The Secret Sessions—Rheostatics Tribute

The Secret Sessions—Rheostatics Tribute
Many tribute albums lack coherence. Too many bands want to put their own spin on the songs, until they’re unrecognizable. Not this one. The Secret Sessions—Rheostatics Tribute presents 13 songs that remain true to the core of the original tunes while providing new angles. It’s a delicate balance that shows care and thought. The Weakerthans’ “Bad Time to be Poor,” Wooden Stars’ “Saskatchewan,” “Dope Fiends and Boozehounds” by The Inbreds, “Public Square” by Weeping Tile and “Stolen Car” by Kate Fenner and Tony Scherr shine brightest in that respect. The whole album makes you think, “Geez, they wrote some damn fine songs.”

Survey Asks

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
