Masked & Anonymous OST

Published August 07, 2003.VariousMasked & Anonymous OST What draws Bob Dylan to movies? His are always bombs, from Renaldo and Clara to Gods and Generals. Word is this one, in which he stars as past-his-prime rock star Jack Fate, stinks. No matter, the soundtrack is a gem. It features 14 Dylan cuts, including four live ones by the man, and a bevy of worthy covers by Jerry Garcia and the full Grateful Dead, Los Lobos and Shirley Caeser and The Dixie Hummingbirds. As long as we get good soundtracks, Dylan can go on making crappy movies. —Bob Ellis
