Published August 14, 2003.VariousYes New York(Wolfgang Morden)Yes New York sets out to prove that there is more to the current New York scene than The Strokes; strangely enough the disc opens with a live version of "New York City Cops". After being enticed by this previously unreleased Strokes track, the compilation manages to prove itself a worthwhile sampler. Much of the music here recalls New York's underground heyday in the late 1970s. Sure some of the bands kinda suck, but some, such as Radio 4, are worth seeking out. —Trevor MacLaren
