Ubuntu: The Cape Town Project

When: March 10-29 2009
Phone: 429-7070
Ubuntu: The Cape Town Project is a play about the elemental connections between family members and between communities. It is about the thread that runs through past, present, and future. Broad topic…beautifully expressed and explored through the story of Jabba, a young South African who comes to Canada in search of Philani, the father who abandoned him when he was a toddler. Traditions and cultures clash. Hearts break. Relationships grow and wither. Secrets tear families apart. People die. But rather than being depressing, this work pulses with life and hope. It is a vibrant mix of intrinsically interwoven music, dance and theatre that will ultimately leave you feeling connected to characters you have only known for 95 short minutes.---Kate Watson
