Between the two bridges linking the harbour’s separated-at-birth cities, the matchy-matchy towers of Purdy’s Wharf and the local predilection for strong drink, Halifax is often seeing double. But this summer it’s deja vu all over again.

Since the end of May, loads of Haligonian screens have been tuning in to the second coming of Twin Peaks, Showtime’s continuation of the David Lynch series that’s been 25 years in the making. And this week, Halifax is hosting an official delegation from Hakodate, Japan, to honour 35 years of being sister cities.
