American satellite service DirecTV has huge ambitions to become the next HBO, according to an article in the NY Times. Or more like a more-expensive gateway to TBS or Peachtree—you know those channels where you can watch Deep Blue Sea 500 times in a row, or get your heroine-fix of Seinfeld. Anyway, the plan is to "become a pre-cable window for those premium channels," and one of their first acquisitions is Trailer Park Boys, which will start airing on February 5.
