Touring Green - Blog 54: Halifax Final Post (August 17)

FINAL BLOG: 287 Rammed In For A Shake Down At Gus'

In this, my final blog, I would like to thank everyone who supported me as I made the trek; I could not have done it without you. I have said many a time too that I was just a small part of making this whole thing happen and that I was just the lone crowd surfer who surfed across the country, held up by all your hands.

Especially thanks to:

The CoastMy Parents, Brother Paul, and Nicole&OlofStephen Carroll, Dave McKinnon, Rebekah Higgs & Joel Waddell Dawn&Erin (and Dawn&Darryl) For Their Biking KnowledgeEveryone at The Childhood Cancer Foundation (You Can Still Donate at My Myspace!)And All the Promoters, Media (Thanks Very Much Exclaim!), Donors, Bands and Accommodating PeopleAnd Everyone Who Helped Me During Times of Trouble

If I could say one last thing, it'd be that I named this tour "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" (now called "Touring Green" because of a Cease&Desist) because I found it to be a very inspiring book and hoped that by doing something as extreme as this that it might encourage others to turn those "some day's" into "todays". If you want to do something, just go and do it and you'll find that the hardest part was setting the wheels in motion (not exactly a joke about biking inertia there). To quote Pink Floyd and something I constantly think about, "And all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be".

Not to spoil the ending of my next EP but the final line is fitting here too:

"If we're all dying to live and you can see it in our eyes, then why...are so many of us living to die?"

Horns, Winds And An Abra-dabra Band With Drum Skins!

Much Music's Going Coastal Came (Watch Soon As I Got The Chance To Burn Nickelback Nationally!!!)

How Bout A Little Synth Solo On The Bass Drum?

It's All For You... It's Called A "Feel-Good" Clap For A Reason!

Joel Waddell On The Drums Ladies And Gentleman!

It's Done!!!!!!!!!!!

It occurred to me, after the fact, that I never explained to the audience that night that I had been cutting my hair off piece by piece at the end of each show and this was now the final piece to be cut. Instead, they just saw me start to shave my head quietly on stage during the Outro!

Thanks very much to everyone who made that night so much fun and special!!!!!

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
