Touring Green - Blog 19: Edmonton (June 6-9)

The Fall of The Mosquitoes

Edmonton was another whirlwind with three performances at an art gallery, CBC performance space (which was an interesting performance mid-day at CBC in this downtown mall), and the festival show at the Velvet Underground (with a little Cadence Weapon upstairs at the Starlite which was pretty nice since I didn’t get to catch his show at the Halifax Pop Explosion and Fat Dave Crime Wave downstairs: It was Bike Month too so the whole place felt very bike-friendly.

The mosquitoes have been everywhere and, in Edmonton, they reigned. Is this the last of the blood-sucking mosquitoes that have been attacking me since Lacombe?

...Tune in next week; same Rich-time, same Rich-channel.

Here are some photos of the CBC performance:

Here are some videos I took on the LRT (Light Rail Transit) on my way into The Velvet:

Survey Asks

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
