Re: “Animal Vets - Biggest rip off since dentists

You also need to consider possible influences such as anthesia, sterilization, payroll for both the vet and vet tech to handle a large dog - none of which are covered by a government health care program.

Pet insurance is a great idea, but porcupine quills can be removed on your own (if phyiscally capable and responsible) but I would still suggest visiting a professional.

Re: “It's alllll about you!

I completely agree. I had food poisoning for roughly a week and took care of myself. No rommates, no parents, no significant other. I even had to drive myself to the emergency room when I couldnt even keep water down.

I am under the inpression that you wanted a reason to bail, or you're willing to give up having a life beyond your relationship at the drop of a hat.

I'd react exactly like your "bitch" friend.

Re: “Ungrateful bums, literally

There seem to be more panhandlers or bums in city centres and urban areas because:

1. They are easier to travel to. It's much easier to hitchike or grab a bus into Halifax or Dartmouth, rather than going to Truro, Hantsport or Kentville.

2. A big jump in population. Sitting at the intersection of Quinpool and Robie, you're gonna make more money than you would anywhere in Annapolis Valley.

Re: “Since when did Easter become X-Mas #2

In the same breath you could also mention that why is Christmas AND Easter all about the gifts and showing off? I am MORE than happy getting a few tea towels, or a grocery gift card. Being a less than welathy, young person in Halifax - getting those things would be a Christmas (OR EASTER) miracle.

Re: “Seeking women

I think Like A Motorcycle has faced a lot of challenges in their beginning. They are a grunge, all female band - trying to make it in a folk/indie world. They are an unusual treat & their stage presence is undeniable.

I would take a night at Gus' pub listening to them rock the stage, rather than some motionless folk singer any day. How many women in music do you see doing that?! I admire them.
