The Warlord, written and illustrated by Mike Grell (DC)

A hero's return for the The Warlord.

Grell's sorcery, sword-and-Automatic-Magnum opus has been revived twice since he left the book in 1982, and the most recent series (2006) that he didn't write has been quickly forgotten. So it's especially good to have Grell once again steering the tale of Travis Morgan, an American military man turned freedom fighter in an other-dimensional, timeless world inside the earth, one where the sun is stuck constantly at noon. Also, starting on issue seven, Grell's gorgeous art is featured with his writing, the first time in 27 years. For pure scantily clad, escapist fare, it's hard to go wrong here.
