The Pudding Room

Joker's Club's improv group flattens Wednesday's hump.

Wednesday. Hump day. Ho hum day. Not generally the most sparkling day of the week. However, if you're weary of reruns and term papers, I suggest that you get your butt down to the Joker's Club next Wednesday and take in The Pudding Room improv. Despite the crappy name, these eight quick-witted clowns put on a hilarious show. It's set up as a contest where two teams compete in events such as "one-minute movie" or "lines from a hat." The improvisers (or is that improvicians? Improvadians?) take their cues from the audience, so the raunch factor depends mostly on the prompts shouted out by patrons---and of course the raunch factor of those grows exponentially with the pitchers of beer consumed. The five dollar cover is well worth the two hours of clever entertainment. –Kate Watson
