Miami offers up a pleasant surprise in this Florida trio’s debut album, which should be listened to wearing an oversized floppy sun hat and dark eyeliner. Far from a cheesy Horatio Caine quip, this album conjures up airy ’60s French pop—stick it on a soundtrack with Serge Gainsbourg, or even better, with his daughter Charlotte’s new album 5:55. Images of sweet breezes, summer’s golden curls and seasons changing float along on the effervescent sounds of toy pianos, theremins and harpsichords. Even lead singer Tim Yehezkley’s sweet, romantic voice and fresh face contradicts her masculine name. The Postmarks will have you dreaming for summer.
