The Hidden Cameras
Mississauga Goddamn
The band’s debut, Smell of our Own, was a charming and intelligent display of shimmering pop brilliance that was shocking in its explicit glorification of homosexual pleasure. Thank-fully little has changed. Joel Gibb’s lyrical pursuits have be-come more playful—“That’s When the Ceremony Starts” and “In the Union of Wine” will tease the religious right into a frenzy. It’s adventurous, accomplished and will ruffle many a feather, as good art and music should.
