The Full Monty is a sexy, saucy romp about a group of six unemployed men who decide to reclaim their masculine pride by taking part in a strip show. While the dialogue is filled with raunchy humour that had the audience hooting and hollering, the show also deals with serious topics like shifting gender roles and what makes a good father or husband. A live band, a large cast and multiple scene changes can be challenging in a small space, but this production is simply but effectively staged. TAG has assembled a strong ensemble cast, and when each character is given a moment to shine, shine they do. Lorraine Cantwell particularly cracked everyone up with her spot-on performance as a hard-living, wise-cracking piano player. The naughty humour might be too much for some, but if you don’t turn a hair at penis jokes and the f-bomb, this show is a winner. —Kate Watson
