Forged In Vinyl Grand Opening w/Napalm Raid, Versifist, Thaumiel Forged in Vinyl is Halifax's first record store dedicated solely to underground extreme metal. The grand opening party also serves as a wicked all-ages metal show. Bring the kids! Pro Skateboards, 6451 Quinpool Road, free, 6pm
Death Valley Driver w/Dischord, Hero's Last Rite, Orchid's Curse PEI face melters (and ECMA winners) Death Valley Driver are the big sell for me on this four-band, four-city tour. Their brand of contemporary metal mingles with classic rock influences for a sound that’s punishing, complex, and at times, nearly playful. This show comes with a bonus, too: Orchid’s Curse’s prodigal bassist Kevin Mombourquette has returned from the west coast and he’s playing (another) retirement show. Gus' Pub, 2605 Agricola Street, 9pm
Bow Wow Bow Wow isn't so Lil' anymore. The little fella we knew and loved now stars on CSI: Cyber and tortures rap fans the world over by not releasing the album he promised five years ago. Take a trip down memory lane with my elementary school jam. The Marquee Ballroom, 2037 Gottingen Street, $20-$60, 10pm
