Studio 21’s grand re-opening in their brand spanking new location on 1273 Hollis is a serendipitous affair, their move last month brought them to a more visible, street-level space and the first show in the new location is all about looking ahead. Featuring work from previous Studio 21 co-director Ineke Graham, titled Full Circle, Graham’s work marks a return to the artist role, after leaving the role of gallery administrator. Gallery owner Deborah Carver explains how the other featured artists, Janice Leonard and Susan Wood’s show Time Present, Time Past fits in with the re-opening theme. “With this idea of ‘time present, time past’ it also looks at time future—probing at ephemera and reminiscence. It’s all kind of just perfect because it shows a moment of moving forward,” says Carver. “All moves have their challenges, but on the whole it's gone well and we have had great help getting the space ready. The space is fabulous and we're thrilled. This is our fourth location in over 30 years and we keep saying it’s getting better and better.” Head to the grand opening Friday, November 16, 5-7pm to see for yourself. The show runs to December 22.
