Re: “Its Dartmouth

Halifax has relied on Dartmouth water since the very early sixties, Dartmouth owned the bridges, Dartmouth had the first transit system, Dartmouth owned the ferries (after buying the longest operating salt water ferry system in N America Brandon do your homework.

Re: “Five years of solitude

sometimes a non-violent, usually first time offender, requests admin seg as a way of staying safe. Burnside is a very dangerous place if you have no criminal ties and no real street skills. A white collar offender who's never fought since grade school will be quickly noticed and used and abused. Better segregation than a rape!

Re: “Africville Settlement: Is this Democracy or a Miscarriage of Justice?

As one who grew up during the demolishment of Africaville, and the building of social housing to house displaced residents, I need to play devil's many deeds for real property existed? Because your home was there didn't mean you owned the land it sat on. Did the owners of property, who had deeds for that property get fair compensation for it based on realestate values of the day..? Did many who were squatting get none? Was the expropriation required for the city to move forward? Expropriation has been done in many areas of HRM for the growth of the city, but only this one is still a thorn in our side...why? Greenbank was a community based on squatters on privately owned land, with the owners tacit approval, but squatters non the less. I'd like to know how many familys had deeds in africville, what the compensation was to them at the time based on valuation, and if we really need to keep paying! I was 10 years old, had no say in politics of the day, but some would have their hands in MY pocket for this mis-adventure...why?

Re: “Police Doing Their Job

I drive all day all over the city. We could beat our deficit if they cranked up the cell tickets! I see +25 people everyday on a handheld, and idiots are to the beat if only they could stop the murders.......or find the doers......

Re: “HRM guy gives a boost

it's nice hear some love for HRM employees! I forget there is a bunch of good ones when I can see a beach parking lot in Dartmouth where I watch trucks hide for hours at a time.... on my nickel. Thanks for reminding me not to tar 'em all with the same brush

Re: “Cabs for you cabs for me

Streatch and his flunkies need to get their heads outta their bums on the rooflight moratoriam! It isn't working! I tried twice on different nights before Christmas to be responsible and call a cab from the filthy dirty monopoly in Dartmouth....even at 6pm on a Sunday night my cell timed out four times without an answer.....drinking and driving again I guess...only in this backwater province can you get top heavy laws without thought to alternatives! If only MADD would throw it's weight behind better cab service instead of making sure I'm at risk if I have two lousy beer! Untill then, I'm a proud member of DAMM ....drunks against mad mothers....
