Stop Motion Massacre

The three-piece punk band released Bright Ideas in May.

Stop Motion Massacre is filled with illuminated inspiration. The three-piece punk band released its album Bright Ideas at the Obey Convention in late May.

Instead of the usual jewel case the band offers a free download, a comic book, a mixology book of preferred Stop Motion Massacre drinks (see Acid Viking: Rev combined with a 10 percent can of Faxe beer), a dream-a-scope and a how-to guide on enjoying all of this, wrapped up inside a light bulb.

Influenced by Dinosaur Jr., The Replacements and early Donnas material, Stop Motion Massacre formed while living at Fjort, a crowded quasi-party house on North Street. As they moved on the project became an excuse to hang out with one another, drink and make sound. Stop Motion Massacre is comprised of Derrick Hiltz (Rip Van Torn) on drums, Alfred Remo (Al Screamo) on guitar and Brian Dodge (Briantology) on bass.
