A free film series focused on mental health issues shows its first film this week, coupling a screening of *The Soloist* with a discussion panel on the films' mental health ethics. The series is organized by researcher Tim Krahn of Novel Tech Ethics, a Dalhousie research team that focuses on the ethics of neuroscience research. Krahn says he started the series and panels because "building better communication is critical to improving mental health on an individual and social scale," and he's hoping to build mental health ethics literacy in HRM. The series continues with *Rachel Getting Married* (Jan 26), *Stop-Loss* (Feb 2) and *Little Miss Sunshine* (Feb 9), with various professional panelists and community advocates to spur public discussion. All screenings are free. –Holly Gordon
