Over at Studio 21 (1223 Lower Water), stART showcases the work of 22 students from Canadian art schools and universities. Selected by the head of each school's painting department, these students represent the top of their classes. With a wide range of styles represented, all that's left to do is pick a favourite, or 10. At first, NSCADer Ebony Scalf's untitled painting looks like the remnants of a New Year's Eve party-—delicate, pale debris floating through the sky. A landform appears in the middle of the canvas, like an erupting iceberg, and then you realize those are actually boulders wrapped in bandages that are falling through the air. See for yourself, the show's on until April 9.
