Sex, The Rules Of by Lois Brown (St. John’s, NF) is a darkly comic examination of family dynamics---Moliere meets Married with Children. Four actors play the dysfunctional parents of a 20-something son, the son and his girlfriend, a doctor, a banker and a dead daughter who haunts them all. Everyone is looking for love or sex---or at least approval. The play veers and shifts within its unconventional structure towards its revealing conclusion. It plays with the negotiation of boundaries between parents and children, and between lovers, delving into the secrets and intimacy within a family.
