Remember that episode of 90210 where the gang had to take an egg to a convenience store, in exchange for the party location? Well, keep the produce at home, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is going to release the location of its fundraising party, ArtRising, on its website, artrising.ca. Look for it October 14, the day before the event.

All we know right now is that the party takes place after the Sobey Art Awards, starting at 9:30pm on October 15 in an undisclosed “alternative venue,” which means schmoozing with the art stars. There will be art-inspired food and play, and a performance by Pastoralia. If you missed them at the Go North! studio tour & rally this year, plan to go back to the future. Imagine Blade Runner meets looped electro-pop beats meets performance-inspired paintings, by the stupidly talented Mitchell Wiebe (Soaking Up Jagged, Rad Rat), Rebecca Young (Soaking Up Jagged, former TGTGG) and Ray Fenwick (artist, illustrator, type genius).

Tickets are $50, available at the AGNS, at all Hamachi Restaurant locations, or by email at tickets@artrising.ca. Proceeds help the gallery buy contemporary art.
