Screwed on Sunday

To the editor,

It's frustrating and unfair that business owners now have to resort to loopholes to service the obvious demand for more shopping hours. Can you say double standard? You can go the drug store, you can go see a movie, you sure as hell can go drink and gamble, but if you're out of garlic or a box of nails on Sunday, basically you're screwed. Does no one see the hypocrisy here?

People are busier and more rushed these days and we should have the choice. Why we have only one day to get everything done is beyond me.

Survey Asks

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
