Salve Regina

For the first time since 1956, Palm Sunday and the Feast of the Annunciation—two important Christian holidays—fall on the same day. To mark the holy occasion, the King's Chorus is "enacting this tension between darkness and light, between sadness and joy, with Bach’s beautiful cantata Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, which was written specifically for this rare calendar event on March 25th, 1725." The Gregorian chant Salve Regina starts things off while the Ensemble Regale chamber orchestra and a slew of soloists round things out.
