Remix albums are often cash grabs or artistic indulgence. But Sally Shapiros synth-pop remix stands on its own, and in some cases, surpasses the original. The Swedish singer, with producer Johan Agebjorn, keeps the same track order, one mix per song, employing the assistance of Junior Boys, The Cansecos, Holy Fuck, Woodhands, Juan MacLean and more, and except for Lindstroms 11-minute "Time to Let Go," most of the songs remain in a happy three- to six-minute pop-song range. While the original wouldn't have been out of place in a 1980s Italian discotheque, the remixes give Shapiro's pretty voice a modern club appeal.
