Feeling a little bit country? Head to Burnside, cowboys and girls—The Rodeo Lounge (121 Ilsley) is currently in the process of a major expansion. First on the agenda: famed mechanical bull "Ozzy" is getting a whole room to himself and becoming a permanent fixture of the bar. "At this point, we set him up four days a week, tear him down three days a week...that's a real hassle," laughs local country star Audra Raulyns, who handles promotions for the bar. Rodeo customers will soon have more room to breathe, too—its lounge and dining room sections are both being expanded, and it's
getting a new dance floor and a big new stage. "This will just give us an opportunity to have bigger bands in," says Raulyns. And if you're a very important person with a very important meeting to plan, the expanded Rodeo can fill your needs, too—once renovations are complete, the bar will have a VIP room available for bookings. In the meantime, the Rodeo will still be open and rocking it country-style, with live music four nights a week. Their annual Rodeo Idol singing contest is currently in full swing, too, with a winner set to be crowned November 28.
