//RESPONSIVE: International Light Art Project brings international work to town.

October 18-21, 7pm-Midnight
various locations

A newcomer to this year's fall arts calendar—but one that's sure to be a hit—is //RESPONSIVE: International Light Art Project Halifax, a four-day light-art exhibition with an international cast.

//RESPONSIVE is the collaborative efforts between curators in Halifax and Cologne, and features artists from Germany, the US, North Africa and Ontario's Duane Linklater, winner of the 2013 Sobey Art Award.

True to the festival's name, many of the works will be responsive or interactive, ranging from sculptural works to projections and installations that will be sure to illuminate the long October nights.

On the evenings of October 18-21, works will be shown at different sites across the city, including City Hall, the Public Gardens and the old Public Library, as well as various galleries.

Sure to be a dazzling display, this kind of international show does not often make it to Halifax, so soak it all in while you can.
