Puss in Boots

CAKE DRESS

“Fun for the whole family” may sound like a boring cliché, but the beauty of TAG’s seasonal pantomime is that it genuinely entertains on a lot of levels. This year’s play Puss in Boots delivers broad comedy for the kids (and fun-loving adults) with some clever up-to-the-minute references (plus a touch of innuendo) woven in. Musical director Bunny Shore has a gift for selecting the perfect Broadway melodies (including everything from Cats to Beauty and the Beast) to combine with the comical lyrics. And as usual, TAG delivers an impressive set (Need a giant? No problem!) and scrumptious costumes (This year’s cross-dressing beauty comes attired in an entire cake.) Paul Deveau shines as the simple yet sunshiney hero, Rob McIntyre and Kelly Doney Morrison get big laughs as his conniving brothers and Lowell Shore brings down the house with his gorgeous booming voice.
