Powerful update

So unfortunately, Halifax's Adrienne Power didn't qualify for today's 200-metre sprint semi-finals. She ran 23.51 seconds in the second round of women's 200-metre sprint, finishing sixth in her heat, according to the Chronicle Herald, although the CBC reports her in seventh place. hmmm. Power's personal best is 22.86 seconds, which is nothing to sneeze at...No doubt Power, who suffered an injury during training, has plenty more Olympics and medals in her future!!

In good news, paddler and Coast cover star Karen Furneaux will be advancing, as she placed seventh in her qualifying race to advance in the women's K-1 500. You go girl...
