Portrait of Jason screening

Shirley Clarke's daring 1967 documentary is most celebrated for the monologue delivered by would-be cabaret performer, hustler and gender preference pioneer Jason, who discusses what it's like to be Black and gay in mid-sixties America. Part of a series celebrating female directors, the flick is shown in the MacAloney Room.
