Pirates of Quinpool

Aarrr maties! Quinpool Road Mainstream sets sail with a pirate-themed fall fair on September 13. Get out the eye-patches, black make up and tear up some old sheets –don’t forget the plastic sword and faux skull tattoos –as the annual fair runs from 11:00 – 3:00PM and stretches from Connaught to Windsor Street.

"The annual fair has consistently attracted large turnouts in the past,'' says Karla Nicholson, general manager for the Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association, "and it should prove to be even more popular this year. We have incorporated a new, popular theme –pirates. What is unique about this event is that the vast majority of the offerings will be free.” With carnival games, popcorn, face painting, snow cones, barbecues, a pirate bouncy castle, sidewalk sales, prizes for best pirate costume, antique cars, a treasure hunt and more, the fall fair weekend is sure to be a crowed pleaser. Not to mention easy on the pocketbook.

“Sponsoring a fun, free family day is one of the ways the merchants and service providers on Quinpool Road are able to give back to their community,” says Nicholson.

Other exciting treasures include Clay Café’s (6413 Quinpool) craft-a-thon, Planet Organic’s tasty healthy treats (6485 Quinpool). Freeman’s (6092 Quinpool) will be giving out free slices of pizza, Mezza Mediterranean Grill (6386 Quinpool) will be serving samples of Lebanese Mediterranean cuisines and Scanway (6088 Quinpool) are setting up their chocolate fountain with plenty of strawberries for dipping.
