Re: “Burning Alive

This one hits close to home for me, too. I was bullied and physically abused by a higher-up while working overseas a few years back, and I kept my mouth shut, thinking it was my fault. It took one person at my workplace to tell me that the situation wasn't right, and that I wasn't to blame for the torture I endured. With that in mind, I confronted the bastard with my boss and a few other officials, and as sad as it was to have to leave my host country, I was better off for it by far. I feel awful for the Telecom employees and anyone who endures this kind of abuse. There is NO excuse for that shit, EVER.

Re: “Thesis Stealer

Halifaxmentor, give OP a break! Have you ever written a thesis before? (Judging by your punctuation, I'd say perhaps not.) Thesis-writing takes months and even YEARS to do, and one's brain seems to throw out a lot of common sense in the days just before the paper's due. It's a hugely taxing ordeal.

OP, I've been in your situation before, and I hope your supervisor/profs give you an extension or... something. I'm not sure about tracking down the actual drive, but there are various tools on the internet you can use in the future to see if someone plagarized your original thesis. It might be difficult if the copy on the disk was the only one, but if you have an earlier draft, it might be usable. Good luck!

Re: “I pray I dont end up like YOU

Holy crap, I thought that guy was just a weird quasi-hallucination I'd had walking to school one day. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a guy standing next to a fence where a large crow was sitting. I looked again a second later and both of them were gone. As cool as the idea of a pet crow is, I have to admit that seeing a guy who actually has one was something surreal.

Re: “I believe in yesterday...

Strange Adventures hasn't changed, I don't think. Perhaps the "good vibes" is a clue?

Re: “Library

I have to disagree with More on the female librarian bit. I've worked in two libraries, and believe me, even us mousy librarian-types get miffed when parents are being stupid. The problem is that many of the lower-ranking staff (such as the shelf-stackers and part-time clerks who are actually in the reading areas) aren't allowed by their contracts to speak directly to patrons - NO MATTER WHAT. :(

Re: “Horseshoe Island Park

It could also have been a separate island at some point, but then connected to the land via construction or natural changes. If you look on Google Maps, there's sort of a little node sticking out from the mainland; that might have been your "island".

Re: “No Airport Bus

I've always like the idea of a rapid-service train that goes direct from the Via Rail station with a few stops on the way to the airport. Not that it'll ever happen, but you wouldn't have to worry about traffic problems en route.
