Picture perfect

Logan Hynes examines the narrative behind unflattering snapshots in her exhibit Bad Photo.

Logan Hynes isn't interested in the money shot, she's looking at the photos that most people pass by or cringe over. "I kind of found an interest in the more awkward, quick photographs and their compositions and colours." These snapshots were the unlikely inspiration for the soon-to-be NSCAD grad's Bad Photo. The collection of non-traditional oil paintings are reproductions of her personal photos with a twist, "I took the liberty to mess around and play with certain areas of the paintings, sort of giving more abstract qualities within them, and more representational ones, to create a push and pull." Here's some proof that even an awkward snapshot can be picture perfect.

December 7-11, Anna Leonowens Gallery 2B, 1891 Granville Street,
