Photopolis opening night pics

Last night's Photopolis opening party at FRED was filled with the beautiful people, enjoying food, chats and photos by Hannah Thomson (back from NY for the opening), Michael Fuller and Neil Rough. Earlier in the day I was feeling all sucky about the ridiculously large Nuit Blanche and the international art fair happening in Toronto this weekend, but they can have it. We have Photopolis. And soon, Nocturne.

New Brunswick-based artist Neil Rough beside one of his works. It's amazing how much the back of a head can say.

Chr!s Sm!th is apparently as comfortable in front of the camera as he is behind it. Look for his show at Argyle Fine Art, where artists of all media respond to his photos of local musicians with work of their own.

Arts activist and consultant Andrew Terris, SMU Art Gallery director Robin Metcalfe and Eyelevel Gallery director Eryn Foster, who left this morning for Barcelona to present at a conference about walking and art.

She Got to Get Got Rebecca Young and Maynard Heath Matheson. The Maynards new album, due out next month, is going to make my November all sunny.

No artists (Ryan Suter, Mitchell Wiebe) were hurt in the staging of this fight.

Michael Fuller and Hannah Thomson catch up with friends like Terry Piercey, who just moved to Sackville, NB, which should really be a honourary extension of Halifax.

Photopolis runs until November 15. For a complete list of events, visit photopolis.ca.
