Party like it's Pride Week

The city's bouncing around on a Pride sugar high this week---check out these venues for parties through to Sunday.

If you haven't noticed, you might be blind---Halifax Pride week is in full swing, and this weekend brings the always-anticipated parade and closing parties. While you're waiting for the ass-less chaps dude to swagger your way with Saturday's floats, take a peek at some of these venues that are hosting parties through to Sunday.

The Company House
The CoHo is busting at the seams with events: St. Louis, Missouri singer-songwriter Summer Osborne performs Friday night (8pm, $5), Retro at the CoHo has a special edition Friday for five bucks (10pm), there's a post-parade party Saturday (10pm, free) and a brunch Sunday to greasily soak up the eight-day party remnants (11am, $10). 2202 Gottingen Street, 404-3050

Reflections Cabaret
Reflections is host to Pride's pre-sail party Thursday, with dancing, drinks and complimentary food at no cover charge. Eureka Love hosts a Pride-style Five Minutes of Fame within the evening, DJ HedFones spins a special night Saturday and Mz. Reflections Elle Noir hosts the Halifamous-studded Pride Drag Show Sunday (10pm) with performances by a number of queens too high to count. 5184 Sackville Street, 422-2957

Menz Bar
This is where to go for Pride's post-sail party Thursday with DJ Legacy (10pm, free) and Friday is the Out of Towner Party for non-Haligonians to wear their hometown Pride shirts (10pm, $5). Saturday night's GBLTI White Party and Video Show with Sonny D (free before 9pm, $10 after), and you can chow down at the pancake brunch Sunday (12-3pm, $10). 2182 Gottingen Street, 446-6969

Foggy Goggle
The Goggle opens its doors as the GayLes Motel for one night only (Thursday, 9:30pm, $5), with music by The Numbered Head, Pamela Pachal and the Dirty, Violet Rays and Rose Folks & Kate Surette. When this bed's a rockin', do come a knockin'. 1667 Argyle Street, 444-1414.
