Stubby signposts all over the north end.

Stubby signposts all over the north end.

Remarks: In the streets surrounding our office there are several old signposts that have been cut off two inches above the sidewalk, waiting for someone to trip over them. (This one's a short drunken stumble from Charlies' front stoop, which is just asking for trouble.) White says we should report these things when we see them but, er, didn't somebody cut the things off in the first place? And, why didn't they cut them off flush with the sidewalk?

Who's Responsible?: Nicole White, HRM sign shop, 490-6663.

Status: August 2008: Resolution in progress. The stub in front of Charlies has been removed! It seems the city prefers to get the job done right in two tries rather than one... We wonder if all it took for them to fix it was our watch-doggin’, or, unfortunately, some horrific drunken stumble? Keep your eyes peeled in other areas of the city though, there may still be some stubs lurking around. Updated by Amanda Wenek
