Life’s Tough Not Really (Independent)

This debut cassette scrambles my brain. It’s like one of those black- and-white drawings that looks like a wistful old woman wearing a pearl necklace; then, when you return to it, it looks like an eagle soaring over a lake of fire. The presentation is deceptively simple, the lines are nuanced and multi-dimensional. The spindly guitars make me wonder if I’m looking at it upside down or right side up. The rhythm section reminds me “Duh, there is no right way to look at it.” Now it kinda looks like a young woman in a mirror. Now it looks like a funny cartoon…
