Oh my gosh, GOUACHE

Artist Miyoshi Kondo's works might, from afar, look like prints due to their wide, even black lines wrapping around each visual elements. Argyle Fine Art explains that these works are actually originals, and the bold lines making these works pop is achieved through a special type of paint with a binding agent in it called gouache. When used by Kondo, it walks the (oh so bold) line between pop and folk art.
