Celebrating the 10th edition of the festival, OBEY X, the
OBEY Convention announced the early line-up for spring's wildest festival, including Indonesian folk, hip-hop, thrash metal and more.
Clear the ol' calendar for May 25-28, across the city at "alternative and historic venues" (over half of the programming free and all ages) OBEY once again provides some modern and radical musical experiences to melt the dirt-snow in your winter brain.
Expect "operatic Indonesian doom-folk duo
Senyawa, Philadelphia’s outré hip-hop activist
Moor Mother, industrial NYC thrash-metal combo
Uniform, legendary new age beacon
Laraaji, insurgent acid-house bunker-junkers
Pelada and Hull, Quebec’s bilingual post-punk powerhouse
FET.NAT.
Beyond musical offerings, OBEY X will see the return of Art In Fest, The Khyber Centre For The Arts’ standalone celebration of contemporary art, as well as The Everyseeker Symposium, a lecture series exploring the intersections of music, sound and listening across disciplines (presented in partnership with The Fountain School Of Performing Arts)."
Early bird passes are
on sale now until March 28, when the second wave of artist announcements are revealed. Passholders are guaranteed access to all ticketed events.
