Today Music Nova Scotia announced today that Nova Scotia Music Week will once again be happening in Yarmouth. This is the third time the town has hosted the awards week. In a release, executive director Scott Long said "Of the bids received for music week, the Yarmouth bid was the only bid that could meet our requirements, not to mention the outstanding track record the community has for hosting our hallmark event.” That low heaving sound you hear, just faintly on the sea winds, is every member of Yarmouth's hotel service staff, sighing heavily. The week will happen November 3-6 this year.
In celebration, here's an old chestnut from Death from Above 1979, who will be reuniting in time for Coachella in April. And what does this have to do with Nova Scotia Music Week happening in Yarmouth again? Well, both of these happy events show that if something is working well, obviously you should keep doing it, instead of trying to create new magic music with your headbands and your half-beard and your garbage glamor project and then you show me your butt crack when you bend over on stage. Don't mess with a good thing.
