Not enough

To the editor,

I was quite disappointed in your latest issue due to the lack of information about the election. A large portion of your readers are in their late teens and 20s, which means they are of age to participate in the democratic process. The problem is that the majority of them do not. Their main reason for not contributing: apathy and lack of information. I believe that it is responsible journalism for The Coast to publish some information about the various parties and their platforms to help inform the apathetic masses and help the youth of our fine nation make a decision and become more proactive. Less than a quarter of Canadians ages 18 to 25 vote—this is a HUGE problem. And these elections directly affect this demographic. I hope next time an election rolls around, The Coast is a little more proactive themselves.
