No Photography! A study in composition and being asked to leave
When: Aug. 2-29 2018
It all started when Jesse Webber found a camera in a box on the side of the road. He took the vintage 35mm to stores, using the unflinching mannequins as models, studying composition. "Observing these displays with a camera made everyone very self aware, myself included. It went against company policies and values. A certain kind of privacy was being taken away. But what does privacy mean in these commercial places during the age of social media? And what does a camera do differently to infringe upon it than a phone?" muses Webber's artist's statement.
