Night magic

The anniversary of the Khyber's first Night Flea Market gathers 30 vendors and their fabulousness together for shopping, mingling and good times.

Happy first birthday to you, Night Flea Market. It was exactly a year ago that we were writing about Natalie Slater and Chloe Anderson's Seoul-full dreams. Slater, after some heavy blog reading, was pumping herself up to move to Korea and Anderson had just returned from a year living there. The two bonded over just how cool Seoul's nighttime flea markets were and decided, hell, why not make Halifax just as awesome. So yet again, packed inside the warm and wonderful Khyber will be 30 vendors, who'll lay out their handmade objects, tasty baked goods, fabulous vintage duds, trinkets and oddities for you to drool over. And then buy. Take home bling that'll dazzle at your holiday party, get a new 'do, send a soup-o-gram (thank you Daina Tavenier and Sam Kinsley, that's brilliant) and if you please, our own Stephanie Johns will make your nails right pretty. The amount of treasures under one roof makes this a package deal you can't refuse, plus there'll be tunes from DJ Sway Back to finish off the night. Here's to another year of the Night Flea Market, and check out their blog at nightfleamarket.tumblr.com.

Saturday Nov 26, Khyber Centre for the Arts, 1588 Barrington Street, 8pm-midnight, 19+, $2 (in support of the Khyber)
