Musicstop mural | Shoptalk | Halifax, Nova Scotia | THE COAST

Wondering what happened to that music-themed mural that used to brighten the side of Musicstop (6065 Cunard)? Turns out “the mural removed itself,” according to Brian McConnell, Musicstop’s district manager for Atlantic Canada. Staff discovered water leaking behind the mural and “then the whole wall started coming became a safety issue,” says McConnell. The rest of the wall was taken down in December, but should go back up some time this month. As for whether a new mural will be commissioned, McConnell has some sad news: “We poured a pile of money into the building, and we’re on the verge of pouring a pile more. I don’t know that we’ll do that again when we have a brand new wall up there.”
