Re: “L'Homme de Montreal, please go home

"The court doesn't condone the conduct of anonymous Internet users."…

It's been a blast folks, but I think I'm outta here.

Re: “I'll find that whiskey if I have to wait all night for it

It's just the status quo. Not enough people complain, so nothing gets done. The gov't really doesn't care that much, they just aren't going to invest the time and energy into solving a problem that doesn't need fixing. I suspect if you generated enough publicity and discussion over it, it wouldn't be too hard to find support for the privatization of liquor sales. The government would still collect it's share of the taxes on booze and would ultimately collect more revenue because of the increased "spontaneous" liquor sales. The government isn't out to rob you of choice.

Re: “Classy...

That's exactly what I was getting at Frosty. There are only a few streets in Halifax where panhandling would be profitable and I'm sure that accounts for the increased density on those streets. Also, TO does have the aggressive panhandling laws which may have had an effect on keeping some of the more noticeable panhandlers off the streets there in recent years.

Re: “Too much sensory information...

You must be quite the stud LS. Any pearls of wisdom to share with us so we too can get more ladies to show us their goods?

The only reason you should not post any more of his "bitches" is, as Jennier mentioned, they are not bitches. Don't block him because people don't like him. That'll be a real shit storm if we start doing that. Anyway, he's easy to ignore if you so choose and doesn't post on any other thread. It's a well-contained troll. However the joke's getting old and we're getting bored so I suspect this project will die quietly all on it's own. Do whatever you see fit Mod, I don't care either way.

Re: “To the bitch who puts LOOKS first!

Are you hideous OP? I think a photo is the only way to really figure this one out. Let us judge you.

Re: “Classy...

I think Halifax is worse than Toronto. SGR has far more panhandlers/block than most of the busiest streets in Toronto (Yonge, Bay, Queen, King, Dundas, University, College, Spadina, Front). There's a lot more homeless people in Toronto per block, but most of them aren't asking for change.

Starting on Robie and SGR, there's the guy in front of the Tim's, there's usually one on the corner by the lord nelson, then one by Oasis, and another by the Tim's on the corner and another across the street by the drug store. Then there's often one by Rogues and a few down by the Library. So, in the span of a 5-10min walk you have about 7 panhandlers.

In Toronto I could walk the same distance down any of the above streets and I would get hit up for change maybe 2-3 times. I'd see a lot more homeless people minding their own business, but not hitting me up for change.
