Grow Up & Blow Away

Metric
Grow Up & Blow Away
(Last Gang)
There’s no slowing down Emily Haines. After Metric’s debut album Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?, the follow-up Live it Out broke through and put Metric on the indie rock map. Opting to ride the wave further, Haines put forth her solo debut this spring, Knives Don’t Have Your Back, to critical and moderate commercial success. Now Metric bandmate Chris Taylor and his label Last Gang have decided to dust off Metric’s intended debut. The decision to release Old World Underground in lieu of Grow Up & Blow Away appears to have been a wise one—the ambient nature of this effort fails to leave an indelible impression.
