Ghost Notes

Matthew Barber
Ghost Notes
If Ghost Notes is any indication of what it might be like to walk a mile in Matthew Barber's shoes, then it's a pretty nice world he lives in. While there is no doubt he must have moments of strife, very little of that appears in his songwriting. Instead, he focuses on the love and goodness around him. So that even when he offers up his vulnerability, like on "Easily Bruised," it is done with optimism and hope. In a world where singer-songwriters, by default, are usually venting anguish and hurt, it is refreshing to listen to someone that deep down still sees the beauty in the world around him, and can express it with such sincerity.
