Massive memories

To the editor,

Reading last week's piece on Tony Hage's Massive Productions anniversary was like tripping down memory lane ("Midnight Massive," Johnston Farrow). I was at Tony's first party at present-day UpCountry, and I was also at the Church party (as we coined it)—everyone danced so hard that we wore holes in the industrial-grade carpet. It was humble beginnings, but I remained a dedicated partygoer long after raves hit a chord with the rest of the hip and young Halifax populace. It became a movement and there appeared to be no stopping it.

Tony Hage has been an integral part of the Halifax rave scene and has provided me with countless hours of dancing and fun. He and the other promoters did not just establish a rave scene, they created a community which still has a strong foundation. Tony has been a credit to the rich tapestry of the Halifax music scene as a whole, and I am pleased to see him still succeeding in his endeavours.
