Maria Taylor is a lesser-known contributor to the Omaha music consortium that includes Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and M. Ward. Her 11:11 was a sturdy if unfocused debut, unsure whether it wanted to be folk or the Postal Service. She’s toned down the synth for Lynn Teeter Flower, the just-this-side-of-glorious follow-up. She comes close to letting go on “Clean Getaway,” spending the song getting out from under love, then almost belting the last line: “And I miss you/every single day.” Three producers don’t dilute the cohesiveness, mixing the indie-country heartache of Jenny Lewis’s Rabbit Fur Coat with the less wanky bits of Bright Eyes’s Digital Ash in a Digital Urn.
