Love as Laughter

Laughter’s Fifth

Love as Laughter
Laughter’s Fifth
(Sub Pop)
First it was cool to be signed to Sub Pop, then it was cool to be a retro-rock band. Now it’s cool to be a retro-rock band signed to Sub Pop. None of this has helped Love as Laughter much in the hype department. Still, the group has shown consistent development over the course of its four albums. This evolution has hit new heights on the band’s latest, Laughter’s Fifth. The disc is a laidback collection of songs that claim equal heritage to Pavement and The Kinks. It’s indie that remembers to rock.
